Whether you’re expanding your team, formalising the skills of current employees, or preparing recruits for licensing, the traineeship model offers a structured, cost-effective recruitment strategy for an employer.
For aspiring real estate professionals, the traineeship pathway to the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice provides a smart and supported entry into the industry. It’s more than just a qualification — it’s a launchpad for career growth, practical experience, and success.
What is a traineeship?
Similar to an apprenticeship, a Traineeship is a work-study arrangement that combines practical experience with formal training through Entry Education (RTO 41529).
In essence, whilst you are engaged in your current role within the real estate industry, you may pursue your studies and leverage your workplace experience to facilitate the completion of the course.
The subsidy, from the South Australian government, reduces the cost of the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice (‘Cert IV’) to $305, or $350 if you wish to include property management.
Upon completion of the Certificate IV, graduates are eligible to apply for up to three licences:
- Sales Representative
- Auctioneer
- Property Manager
This opens doors to multiple career pathways within the industry — a win for both employers and employees.
How does a traineeship work?
To access this opportunity, candidates must meet the following general eligibility criteria:
- Be employed or about to be employed in the industry, full-time or part-time (15 hours or more). The traineeship is suitable for a new employee, an existing employee, or a mature-age student
- The candidate must be over 16 years old and must live and work in South Australia.
We will discuss the process and requirements of a traineeship with your employer.
At Entry Education, we will liaise with all the stakeholders to facilitate your traineeship.
Getting started is easy – follow this link: Real Estate Traineeships Adelaide SA
This is when I will make contact with you and your employer. We confirm your employment status, and we send you a Traineeship Application.
We will then connect you and your employer with the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN); this will be either MAS National or SYC. The Australian Government contracts these organisations to assist employers with the traineeship process.
We will also need to interview with you (the employee) to ensure that they are suitable and supported in their studies, and to determine if they require any further support or reasonable adjustments.
The South Australian Skills Commission is the agency responsible for managing traineeships in SA. The employer will need to complete an employer registration application. Once set up, the employer will need to register the trainee and Entry Education as the ‘Nominated Training Provider’ (NTO). You are up and running!
My team and I have extensive experience in managing the traineeship process. We will guide and support you with every step of the process.
