If you’re looking to break into the finance and mortgage broking industry, or you want to gain a recognised formal qualification, then this is the course for you.

You’ll learn about processing loans, including credit applications; identifying clients’ finance and mortgage broking needs; and the necessary legislation to ensure your work is always legally compliant. Building and maintaining customer relationships is intrinsic to this course. There are no entry requirements and 12 units to work through.

The Certificate IV Finance and Mortgage Brokering is currently the educational requirement to work in the finance and mortgage broking industry.
There are no educational requirements for this course.

However, you will need to complete an LLN quiz prior to commencing the course, and during the registration process you need to register for a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Reliable internet and access to a desktop or laptop computer is required to complete your course.

The course is made up of 12 units – eight core units and four elective units.

The eight core units are:

  • FNSFMB412 – Identify client needs and present broking options
  • FNSINC412 – Apply and maintain knowledge of financial products and services
  • BSBPEF501 – Manage personal and professional development
  • FNSCUS511 – Develop and maintain professional relationships in financial services industry
  • FNSINC411 – Conduct work according to professional practices in the financial services industry
  • FNSSAM411 – Sell financial products and services
  • FNSFMK515 – Comply with financial services regulation and industry codes of practice
  • FNSFMB411 – Prepare loan applications on behalf of clients

And four elective units. The four elective units are selected based on relevance and local industry needs.

  • BSBTEC301 – Design and produce business documents
  • FNSASIC301 – Establish client relationship and analyse needs
  • BSBOPS304 – Deliver and monitor a service to customers
  • BSBPEF402 – Develop personal work priorities.
As a student, you have ongoing unlimited support throughout your course. A direct message system in the Entry Education portal enables you to seek support whenever you need it. This includes weekends and outside 9–5 office hours.

The course is delivered online and is self-paced. So there’s no pressure to meet deadlines, and you can work around your own work commitments.

The only commitment you have is to complete your Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking by the completion date.

Entry Education is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 41529) and we issue students with their certificates, statements of attainment and transcripts of results.

Students receive soft copies (PDFs) of their certificate within 48 hours of successfully completing their course. This certificate is accepted by the government and all agencies. Hard copy certificates can be printed and posted to you for a fee of $20.

To qualify as a Finance and Mortgage Broker, you must provide a statement of attainment. This is issued to you by Entry Education (RTO 41529) after you successfully complete your course.

Once you have your statement of attainment from Entry Education, you can apply to ASIC for a Credit Licence. This will enable you to work in the finance and mortgage broking industry.
