If you an experienced mortgage broker or banker, you can fast-track your qualification by applying to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). This process uses a combination of traditional assessment and RPL.

RPL enables you to provide examples of workplace documentation that can be aligned to the course requirements and reduce the volume of assessment a new entrant would otherwise be required to complete.

By utilising the RPL option, you can reduce the required amount of written assessments and use your experience to accelerate the completion of the qualification.

How does the assessment process work?

Our finance and mortgage broker courses are delivered online or within face to face workshops.

The format of the course is online, you will have 12 -15 units to complete. If you choose the face to face, or face to face virtual workshops, you will have the facilitator assessing your work. You will have the support to get your qualification completed in the timeframe that suits your requirements.

There are no formal exams, it is all very user friendly.You will complete a combination of lending scenarios, written exercises, and online multiple-choice questions. You will need to upload documents, videos, and draft emails to clients.

What do I need to bring?

  • you need a desktop or laptop computer for your Zoom course.
  • download Zoom (the free version is fine).
  • update Zoom, if required, and test the program prior to your attendance.

What is next after completing my qualification?

As a broker you will need to have your Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking, then either hold an Australian Credit licence, or be an authorised representative of an aggregator. The aggregator will allow you to have access to a large number of lenders which gives your clients choice to cater to their individual needs.
