This course is eligible for 20 CPD points with the MFAA and 15 CPD points with the FBAA. *The FNS40821 Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking replaces the previous FNS40820 Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking course.

If you wish to work as a mortgage and finance broker, you’ll need to have completed the FNS40821 Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking. This course contains all the information you’ll need to craft a successful career. If you’re looking to further your finance and mortgage broking career, completion of this course will provide many valuable skills that’ll benefit you in the long term.

Prior to commencing the course you will be required to complete an LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy) assessment.

You will also be required to provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. If you do not currently have one you will be able to register at usi.gov.au.

Reliable internet and access to a personal computer are also necessary to be able to complete this course.

The FNS40821 Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking course comprises 12 units; seven core units and five elective units.

The seven core units to be completed are:

  • FNSFMB412 – Identify client needs and present broking options
  • FNSINC412 – Apply and maintain knowledge of financial products and services
  • BSBPEF501 – Manage personal and professional development
  • FNSCUS511 – Develop and maintain professional relationships in financial services industry
  • FNSINC411 – Conduct work according to professional practices in the financial services industry
  • FNSFMK515 – Comply with financial services regulation and industry codes of practice
  • FNSFMB411 – Prepare loan applications on behalf of clients

The five elective units have been selected by Entry Education based on relevance and local industry needs. They are as follows:

  • BSBPEF402 – Develop personal work priorities
  • BSBLDR414 – Lead team effectiveness
  • BSBOPS404 – Implement customer service strategies
  • FNSINC514 – Apply ethical frameworks and principles to make and act upon decisions

We are recognised by all relevant bodies issuing real estate and property management licensing across the country.

Entry Education will issue all students with their certificates, statements of attainment and transcripts of results as we’re a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 41529).

Students will receive a soft copy (PDF) of their qualification once successfully completing the course. Hard copy certificates can be printed and posted to you for a fee.

As a mortgage broker you are required to be mentored for two years to satisfy your aggregator compliance.

The Entry Mentoring program is an intense eight week program which covers 12 hands-on modules about becoming a broker. Sessions are conducted via a video meet once a week, so this is not a full-time program. A learning handbook is available for your references plus self-paced portfolio activities to complete.

For the twenty-four months, you will have access to a mentor who will support you from the transition from education to industry, and to provide valuable knowledge and experience to progress your broking career. An online chat room is also available for any questions or scenarios.
